Bio
I am an educator and sports enthusiast. Growing up in Virginia, I played on a variety of different teams for different sports. I played soccer most of my life and I have had the opportunity to coach several teams and individual players in the US and overseas. Professionally, I am a science and math teacher at the middle and high school level. Currently, I am pursuing my PhD in Curriculum and Instruction at ODU.
When I started CrossFit, I had just recovered from a knee injury and gained a lot of excess weight. I was looking for guidance and direction in my fitness journey because I missed the camaraderie that sports offered, and I was not making much progress in my nutrition and overall fitness on my own. When I went to my first CrossFit workout in Williamsburg, VA, I fell in love with the community and the style of workouts. The intensity of the workout and the support of the community was intoxicating. More importantly, I was making strides towards my fitness goals, and I was having fun in the process.
In 2017, I moved to Woodbridge, VA and received my Level 1 and, shortly after, began coaching at a local box. I have had the privilege of coaching a variety of different athletes and helping them become stronger, healthier, and, overall, more confident athletes. I am always excited to share my fitness journey and I am privileged to help those seeking to better their health and fitness.
